It's just one month until the e-ECE 2020 Congress!
As the Congress is fast approaching, we wanted to tell you what exciting content we have in store for e-ECE 2020! This year's programme will feature cutting-edge science and the latest clinical practice from all of ESE's focus areas. Whatever your field, e-ECE 2020 has something for you.
We have worked tirelessly with our eight Focus Area Leads to ensure our streamlined programme still has a wealth of content for every area of endocrinology. Here are just some of the programme highlights:
Harnessing the microbiome in metabolic disease
"The role of the microbiome in metabolic disease is one of the hottest topics in the field of endocrinology today. This is why my personal highlight is: Plenary 3: Harnessing the microbiome in metabolic disease." (Daniela Cota, Basic Science Lead for the Diabetes, Obesity, Metabolism & Nutrition).
Clinical Endocrinology Trust Lecture
"We are looking forward to the Clinical Endocrinology Trust Lecture given by Richard Eastell. Postmenopausal osteoporosis is a very common disease and is of great interest to clinicians and researchers alike." (Wim van Hul and Lars Rejnmark, Calcium and Bone Leads).
Environmental disruptions of the thyroid hormone axis?
"I am very interested in this Meet The Expert Basic Scientist session on environmental disruptions of the thyroid hormone axis. Endocrine disruptors are constantly coming up as important in both basic and clinical science. It is a puzzle which needs to be resolved, this session should provide part of the picture." (Manuel Tena-Sempere, Clinical Lead for Reproductive Endocrinology).
Davide's research has focused on the basic mechanisms of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signalling and the alterations present in endocrine disease. His group have developed innovative microscopy methods that allow monitoring of GPCR signalling in living cells with unprecedented resolution. This has led to several unexpected discoveries that are profoundly changing the understanding of how GPCRs function and might pave the way to innovative drugs.
