Dear colleagues,
The first bi-annual EPATH conference entitled “Transgender Health Care in Europe” will take place in Ghent (Belgium) from March 12-14, 2015. This conference seeks to foster European knowledge, clinical skills, education and training in transgender health care, to facilitate and extend the bonds between European countries in transgender health care and to share research results.
EPATH invites professionals in the field of transgender health to submit abstracts, for one of the following streams:
- Mental Health
- Endocrinology
- Social sciences
- Children and adolescents
- Surgery
- Law
- Voice and communication
We additionally invite multidisciplinary workshops proposals on the topic of “Challenges in Transgender Health Care”, that can address, but are not limited to:
- (Shared) decision making, informed consent model
- Recommendations for genital reconstructive surgery
- Queer identities and bodies
- Transgender care in non-Western cultures
- Work experiences of multidisciplinary teams
- Addressing sexuality / sexual history
- ….
Students and young researchers are warmly invited to submit poster presentations. EPATH will announce the first Poster Award during the conference.
