1st Basic Postgraduate Course in Basic Endocrinology

‏Dear ESE Affiliated Society member

We would like to inform you of the details of the 1st Basic Postgraduate Course in Basic Endocrinology: Endcorinology Meets Science, organised by the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE).

This Course aims to be a high level course of basic research with deep discussions, where both speakers and delegates participate.

Addressed to all researchers interested in deepening their knowledge in basic research referred not only to endocrinology (hypothalamic control of appetite, new therapies in Diabetes, cell and organ imaging, mouse models of metabolic disease, genome-wide chromatin studies, thyroid transporters and thyroid cancer), but to other fields like biology and biotechnology (asymmetric cell division and stem cells, miRNA in cardiac physiology, neurogenesis and neuronal survival, epigenetics, kinase pathways implicated in cancer and metastasis). The link and promotion of the cooperation between different groups of research in basic endocrinology throughout Europe is also a major goal.

Invited speakers are outstanding members of the international scientific community selected on the basis of their competencies, the quality of their publications, their oratorical abilities and extensive knowledge of their field.

The invited speakers will focus on the technical and most innovative aspects of their studies reporting the problems and difficulties they have found during their research and the challenges they will face in the future.

We would encourage you, as an Affiliated Society member, to publicise the course to all of your members and at any other opportunity within your country in order for basic scientists and clinicians with translational oriented profiles to attend this event in Torino.

It would also be helpful if some travel grants could be offered, when possible, from the Affiliated Society to help with the travel expenses of its members.
